From v7.2.0, users wishing to write notes using inline Markdown mark-up can add the build-in Markdown prototype. This allows use of markdown-style mark-up in note $Text. The latter can then generate styled HTML to be seen in the text pane's Preview tab, whether or not also exported.
If no export template is defined for the note, the built-in default of ^text^ is used for selecting the content shown in the preview
