Built-in Export Templates

Tinderbox includes HTML export templates and text export templates built into the application package. This means these built-in templates are available to all documents - even those for which no default export template has been chosen.

The built-in templates are stored in the Tinderbox package in Contents:MacOS:templates. Users can modify them and add new templates, but probably should instead make changes in the document's own export template folder. These templates differ completely from the new v5.10.0 File menu option to add 'built-in' templates to a document.

Built-in templates can be selected from HTML/Text Export Preferences, HTML View and Nakakoji view. Info view cannot be used to set $HTMLExportTemplate to an internal template as editing the value will only show a file chooser dialog. Conversely, the $HTMLExportTemplate displayed as a key attribute in a note text's window can be edited but can't be used to set an internal template as no chooser menu is created.

Templates that are also prototypes are not shown in the various pop-up template menus (such as in HTML view).

Tinderbox v5.5.0 adds a 'plain-text' template which can be useful for exporting to non-HTML type formats (in v5.5.1, the HTML comment was removed as plain-text export is not necessarily only in HTML format).

aTbRef includes code listings for these templates whose code is otherwise hidden from the user.
